Located in Toronto’s historic Redwood Building, The Inventors Nest is an AI innovation and research lab built around The Redwood Theatre—its public usability lab for human-centred technology.
Members, researchers, and community partners have access to flexible studios, development and production spaces, meeting rooms, a café, and shared work areas for AI applications, immersive media, XR, haptics, spatial audio, and interactive experiences.
Designed for rapid experimentation, the facility supports prototyping, testing, demonstrations, workshops, installations, research sessions, and public showcases. The Redwood Theatre provides the real-world setting where new ideas can be experienced, evaluated with audiences, and refined through live feedback.
The Vision
The Inventors Nest is not just a desk-based co-lab; it’s a dynamic, living lab where creation, production, rehearsal, and presentation come to life around the clock.
Each space is equipped with projectors, sound systems, and mixers, designed to support every stage of development and presentation for a wide range of art forms, including dance, music, film, and interactive media.
As our space continuously evolves, we are reaching out to collaborate with a community of artists and technology innovators to shape an environment that both nurtures creative vision and fosters cross-disciplinary innovation
