Collaboration Across Technology, Creativity, and Community
The Inventors Nest brings together researchers, technologists, creators, and community members to explore human-centred AI, communication, and creative technology. We develop and test new applications, immersive media, interactive systems, and accessible tools that connect people, ideas, and environments.
Our programs support AI prototyping, app development, XR, haptics, spatial audio, projection mapping, and participatory research. By bringing different disciplines into the same space, we turn emerging technology into practical, public-facing experiences.
At the heart of The Inventors Nest is a flexible innovation and research facility where ideas are developed, built, tested, and refined. The Redwood Theatre functions as a public usability lab: a real-world environment where prototypes meet audiences through live demonstrations, installations, workshops, and performances.

Fostering Creative Collaboration
The Inventors Nest brings together researchers, technologists, developers, designers, and community partners to advance human-centred AI, communication, and immersive technology.
We develop, prototype, and test applications, AI agents, interactive systems, XR, haptics, and accessible tools in real-world settings. Through The Redwood Theatre, our public usability lab, ideas move from research and early experimentation to live demonstrations, audience feedback, and practical deployment.
Our work is grounded in a simple goal: to make emerging technology more useful, understandable, accessible, and connected to everyday life.
